What is SEO Friendly & why your website needs SEO

Many times you hear the term "SEO friendly" or "SEO friendly website" but what does this mean and why do you need it? How can a Seo Friendly website help your business grow?

These are the questions I will try to answer in this post by avoiding technical terms or advanced SEO practices and theories.

What Is An SEO Friendly Website?

An SEO friendly website is a website that is easy for search engines to explore and understand its structure and content.

But according to some SEO experts, an SEO Friendly Website is not only intended for search engines, but also intended to provide satisfaction to blog visitors who are reading or browsing the content on our website. So if we combine the two opinions above, then it can be concluded that the Seo Friendly Website is a site whose structure is easy to understand by search engines and the content is liked by visitors or readers.

Websites that are liked by visitors will of course also be liked by google. This is a system that is also used by Google to determine the ranking of a blog site. Blog sites that have a lot of clicks on searches and spend a lot of time in the site.

The most important characteristic of an SEO friendly website is

Have a Unique title and Description for all pages

Each page of a website (including the main page) has a unique title and description.

Titles are between 60-65 characters and descriptions are aprx 150 characters. The title and description accurately describe what the page is about without keywords.

Well formatted URL

Permanent links (i.e. web page urls) are descriptive, all lowercase and separated by hyphens.

Load web pages quickly

Both people and search engines want websites that load slowly. In contrast, fast loading websites are SEO friendly (meaning they have the advantage of ranking algorithms on slower websites) and generate more user interaction (sales, newsletter signups, contact form submission, etc.). One way to speed up blog loading is to defer image with lazy load

Unique Content

The content on the website is not found anywhere else on the web, all pages have unique and useful content. This means a website is not Seo Friendly if it has content copied from another website.

Image Optimization

Search engines prefer actual text, but you also need to have images to your page because people like it, it makes your content more interesting, easier to read, shareable etc.

When you do this, make sure that the image is optimized, remember to always compress if necessary so that the image size does not make the blog loading so slow.

Remember to always attach the Alt Text Attribute to the images you include in the article.

Pages Have a Clear Structure

Web pages usually have the following elements:

  • Footer
  • Header
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Author information
  • Sidebar Widget (Popular Post, Recent Post, Label)
  • Page Title (that is the H1 tag - there is only one per page)
  • Navigation Menu (about, Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, TOS, Sitemap)
  • Well formatted text - text is separated into a number of short paragraphs with subtitles
