Difference Between TLD and ccTLD Domain

The differences between the two domain is actually not much different, only located at the end of the domain name.
Which is a TLD domain and which is a ccTLD.

On this occasion I will discuss the differences between TLD and ccTLD domain. There are still many friends who often ask about the differences between these two domain.

Since you have come to this article, I think you already understand what a domain is, so I don't need to explain it here.

If you still do not understand what a domain is, please read the previous article first or click the article title below

Well, we go straight to the explanation.

Differences between TLD and ccTLD Domain

The differences between the two domain is actually not much different, only located at the end of the domain name.

What you need to understand the information below later, you just focus on the end of the domain name itself. Like .com and .in.

Please pay attention and understand so that you are not confused. For those who don’t understand at all it may be a little confusing, it’s actually easy to tell the difference.

TLD Domain

Top Level Domain (TLD) is a domain name/address that are commonly used by many people without having a watermark from each platform used.

For example TLD domain such as www.domainname.com, www.domainname.org, domainname.info, domainname.net and so on.

In essence, all domain names that end up using .com, .net, .org, .info, .online, .io, .dev, and so on are named TLD domains.

What is a non-TLD domain like?

Have you ever seen a domain name like this? For example, domainname.blogspot.com from the Blogger platform or if you use the wordpress platform means domainname.wordpress.com.

Well, that is a domain name that is not a TLD or can still be said to be a subdomain of each of these platforms. Because there is still the name of the platform it uses, the domain is free. In other words, they still borrow domain names from the platform they use.

Those who do not understand about the Blogger and Wordpress platforms, you can read the article I have written before below.

So what's the difference with a ccTLD Domain?

ccTLD Domain

I will split the ccTLD domain into 2 parts, namely CC and TLD.

CC is an abbreviation of Country Code which identifies as the code of each country.

For the Indian domain itself, that is, it has a code in the form of .in.

Such as domainname.in, domainname.co.in, and so on. As for other country codes such as .us is the American country code, .jp is the country code of Japan and so on.

While the TLD as I have written above is Top Level Domain.

In conclusion, if you find a domain such as domainname.in, domainname.us, domainname.jp and so on, the domain name is a type of TLD domain that has a country code, so it is named ccTLD Domain.

If you see a domain name that does not have a country code such as domainname.com, .net, .info, .org and so on, then it is only named as a TLD domain.

In short, up to here you can actually distinguish which is a TLD domain and which is a ccTLD.

Thus the article on difference between TLD and ccTLD domain. Hopefully useful for you. Thank you for the end.
